Hot Lunch Program

Hot Lunch is organized by the Fundraising Association of New Horizons School (FANHS) and run by parent volunteers. Hot Lunch is offered on Thursdays and occasional Fridays throughout the year. Hot lunch orders are processed in batches. This first round of orders for the 2023/24 school year will include lunches on Sept. 21, 28, Oct. 5, 12, 13, and 26. No orders for these dates will be allowed after September 13th.

How to Register and Ordering Details

***Parents must register anew each year. Follow the Getting Started process below each September to place orders.***

Getting Started…

  • Go to https://nhs.hotlunches.net
  • Click on “Click Here to Register”
  • Complete the rest of the registration form. 
  • Click the “Register Now” button at the bottom
  • Follow the instructions to add each child in your family who attends New Horizons School. 
  • Once your child(ren) are registered, click on “Orders”
  • Proceed to order hot lunch for your child(ren) for every available week. 
  • **STAFF and volunteers: add yourself as a “Student”, choose applicable “Class” of either STAFF or volunteer, then proceed with ordering.

(Your email address will be your user ID to login for future orders. You will receive email reminders when order deadlines approach as well as weekly reminders about your child’s hot lunch order.)

Mon/Wed (Star) Kindergarten class

Mon/Wed (star) kinders will also be able to order on two selected dates. Once they register their child, and indicate which class they are in, the appropriate ordering menus will show up. Parents of these kinder kids will not have access to the Thursday ordering dates for the kinder student, but will have access for their other children.

Staff, Teachers, Volunteers

Volunteers/Lunch Supervisors are welcome to register themselves as a “student” in the class named “Volunteer”. They can pick their orders up at the lunchroom, or we can send them to the classroom they are supervising if they know which one it is and let us know ahead of time.

Staff are also able to order using the same process, by registering as a “student” in the class “staff”. Their orders will all be brought to the staff room.

Volunteering for Hot Lunch

We are looking for volunteers to help sort and distribute hot lunch orders to the students on Thursdays. Volunteers are needed from 11:30 – 12:45 (approximately). If you are available to assist, please sign up on the website when you order lunches, or contact volunteercoordinator.FANHS@gmail.com

Bar Burrito, Boston Pizza, The Chopped Leaf, Cobs Bread, Confetti Sweets, Jugo Juice, KFC, McDonald’s, Panago, Papa John’s, Purple Perogy, Ricky’s, Subway, TacoTime, and Wok Box.

Hot Lunch is made possible by our tireless parent volunteers and our Junior High Leadership students with the support of our office staff. 

Last year saw a very successful return of our Hot Lunch program raising over $12k for FANHS to fund School Council initiatives!
