When the busses ARE running…
Drop-Off
- School doors open at 8:15 am, as usual.
- When the temperature is in the negative teens/twenties or colder, please do not drop students off outside the school until 8:15
- If you drop your child off before 8:15 am, be aware that there is no supervision and students must be dressed appropriately (including hat, mitts & snow pants).
- Students will be waiting outside the main doors.
- Supervised drop-off ends at 8:30 am, students must ring the office bell to enter and stop at the office to get a late slip.
- Please do not idle in front of the school. Exhaust enters our fresh air intake.
- Parents are welcome to park on the nearby streets (except Hawkins Cres) and walk their kids to the front door.
Pick-Up
- If possible keep your pick-up plans the same as your normal routine.
- If there is a change in plans, please confirm with your child before they arrive at school. A note in the agenda or an email to your child’s teachers helps staff direct younger students.
- If there is a change in plans, please call the office before 2 pm (unless there is an emergency). It is difficult to relay messages after 2 pm in a timely manner.
- If you are picking up your child and you are running late due to unforeseen circumstances, (past 3:30pm), please call the office ASAP.
- The school office closes at 4pm.
- Please ensure students have hats, mitts, boots and snow pants for the bus ride/walk to pick-up zone.
- Bus students will be instructed to exit as they normally would.
- Kiss-and-go students will wait outside and listen for their name to be called. Students are welcome to go inside and warm up for a few minutes if they need to (though students need to be dressed for the weather).
- Parents are welcome to park nearby (except on Hawkins) and walk to the front door.
- There is no drop-off or pick-up permitted in the north bus lane under any circumstances.
