Do you have friends or family who would like to support NHS with their every day purchases?

Gift Card order forms can be downloaded and printed from this  link. By purchasing gift cards at your usual shopping spots, a percentage of your purchase will automatically go to NHS.  Orders Due April 24th.

 

Playground Enhancement Survey

All families received an email looking for your feedback on our playground enhancement. Please take a moment to complete the survey by Wednesday, April 17. A link to the survey is in the email.

 

Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers needed! If you are available to help at the upcoming Music Fair, Talent Show, or the Spring Concert (Evening Talent Show) on April 17, please sign-up here.

Thank you drivers for continuing to honor our traffic and management plan. We have been able to clear out the Hawkins Crescent after school  pick-up line before the buses have departed. Thank you for your continued respectful driving and patience!

 

Monday, April 15 (Day 1)

Tuesday, April 16 (Day 2)

  • NOTE: Traffic may be more congested than usual on this day as our school gym is being used as a polling station for the provincial election. There are no after school activities on this day.

Wednesday, April 17 (Day 3)

  • Volunteer Tea  (8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.)
    • Parents assist with the school in so many ways, whether it be helping out in a classroom, assisting with on a field trip, sitting on on a committee, FANHS, School Council, or the Board, or assisting with supervision in the playground and parking lot.
    • The Volunteer Tea is our way of taking the time to say “Thank You.” We understand that not all volunteers are able to attends, but please know that we value the way you contribute to the school. Join us for goodies prepared by the staff, and for entertainment provided by the school choirs and performances by the Grade 1s and Grade 2s.
    • If you are able to join us, please RSVP here by April 15.
  • Talent Fair (10:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.)
    • As part of her music program, Ms. Graham had students from grades 3-6 record themselves performing a musical act. All of these performances are available for viewing in the Talent Fair.
    • Please bring earphones or earbuds to view the performances.
      • Grades 3-4: 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
      • Grades 5-6:  11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.
  • Talent Show Rehearsal (1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
    • The NHS school choirs, band, and ukulele club, all directed by Ms. Graham, will be performing at the talent show. These acts will be followed up with live performances by students who participated in the Talent Fair and were given a “Teacher’s Choice Award.”
    • Parents of students receiving a “Teacher’s Choice Awards” will be notified by Mrs. Graham.
    • While the talent show does not have an admission fee, the Fundraising Association of New Horizons School (FANHS)  will be accepting donations to support FANHS initiatives that support NHS. Those who donate  $5 or more can enter to win a Door Prizes at this event.
  • Talent Show /Spring Concert ( 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.)
    • Performances by the school choirs, band, ukulele club and those who received the “Teacher’s Choice Award.”
    • While the talent show does not have an admission fee, the Fundraising Association of New Horizons School (FANHS)  will be accepting donations to support FANHS initiatives that support NHS. Those who donate  $5 or more can enter to win a Door Prizes at this event.
