For several weeks, students have been invited to stay in at recess to learn how to do the Rubik’s Cube.
We will be holding a “Mid-Winter” Rubiks cube competition this week.
There will be two stages to the competition:
Stage 1: Time Trials
Time trials will be open to all students this Wednesday and Thursday during recesses. Students will chose ONE of the following three events in which they will be timed:
- Red Cross
- Red Face
- Complete Cube
All participating students will receive 1) house points and 2) a certificate that has a record of their time. (Students can continue to practice as the year progresses to see if they can beat their time in late spring during our “Spring” event.
Stage 2: School Competition
Our school competition will occur this Friday, January 22 a 1:15 p.m. during our I & C event. Students with the top 5 time trials will be invited to participate in their event. There will be three categories: primary, elementary, and junior high. House points will be awarded to all participants, and a certificate will be awarded to all. Best time will receive a prize.
