There are many moving parts at school drop off and pick up which can make the experience seem chaotic; however, the staff at NHS each play a vital role in ensuring each student makes it to their vehicle or pick up person safely.
This happens best when caregivers do their part to follow the guidelines set out in the Traffic Safety Plan. If you are not familiar with the various designated parking lots and side streets, the kiss n’ go line protocols, or even where to stand outside to greet your student, please refer to the detailed information found here.
When in doubt, remember to treat Hawkins Crescent as a ONE-WAY STREET during pick-up and drop-off times. Using Hawkins Cres. as a one-way street ensures you do not park across from the school, do not jaywalk, and do not pull u-turns or 3-point turns on the street. And be a good steward by keeping neighbouring driveways clear at all times!
Always make a plan with your child about where you expect to meet! Even if your student is a bus-kid, please remember to discuss ahead of time where your would meet in the event of a change of routine.
